| Dan's Wild Wild Weather Page began in May of
1995. This all happened because Dan would receive email
questions from students and teachers asking about the
subjects you find here in the Wild Wild Weather Pages.
Now, you must keep in mind that in 1995, the Internet was
not what it has now become. There were little if any
educational resources on the topic of Weather other than
the handful of forecast tools that were available through
colleges, universities, and limited government
sites.
Dan's wife, Marian, created and maintained the web site for
the television station where he worked (WHNT-TV).
When he recognized the need for a site like the Wild Wild
Weather Page, he and Marian put the concept together over
a weekend. He wanted a place where students, teachers, and
parents could find as much information as possible in one
place, without having to spend days and hours scouring the
WWW.
Dan also wanted to have a site that was fun and
made learning about weather interesting and entertaining. Dan and Marian, with help
and guidance of their daughter, and educators,
compiled these resources for you.
The goal here is to provide a free , safe, and
interactive learning environment. We also pledge not to
place advertising on this site. But, we utilize as many
free outside resources as we possible can. Therefore, some
tools may contain advertising, of which we have no
control.
